For those of you who don’t know it Matt is the original brains behind WordPress. The other day Matt wrote a post saying that NASA had started using WordPress for their new Ames Research Center project. (Too bad they didn’t even have the decency to link back to WordPress.)
In any case, I left a short comment stating how cool it is that NASA is using WordPress and I even offered to set up a “Girls of NASA” section here on my site. I thought the comment was supportive and a little humorous. Evidentially Matt over at WordPress thought otherwise and deleted my comment without so much as a reason why.
Nice.
So now I am in a bit of a quandary.  I love WordPress. I really don’t like any of the hosted blogging systems like Blogger, LiveJournal, etc… Do I continue to use WordPress, knowing that Matt has snubbed me? Or do I look for another blogging system?
In all fairness, I know that Matt probably deleted the comment because some uptight corporate suits who have their ties on WAY too tight might take offense and drop the use of WordPress simply because one of its users suggested a Girls of NASA site. (After all, with some of the love triangles that their astronauts get into, I can understand their lack of love for the idea.)
But none the less, I still wanted to hear from other people what blogging system they prefer to use and why?
And Matt, don’t worry buddy. I am still a WordPress user even if you probably wish I wasn’t.

John, I think you may be over-reacting a teensy bit. Sure it sucks that your comment got deleted, but there’s probably a good reason for it, and I certainly wouldn’t take it as being snubbed and turning your back on WP. Re: The women of NASA - they’re getting younger and younger these days. Pretty much as soon as they’re out of diapers, they’re back in ‘em!

If you are sure about abandoning WP then perhaps you should give typo a whirl. The only problem is that your webhost needs to use Ruby on Rails.

Yeah John, I agree with you… it really pisses me off too when somebody deletes my comments from their websites. IMHO if they allow comments on their websites then they must cope when everything it comes, as long as it is not directly offensive, whether they like them or not. Otherwise they’d better not blog, or advise “only nice lick-my-dick comments allowed” or something.
Anyway, don’t be too radical and don’t take it too personal, buddy, Wordpress is by far the best blogging system in spite of the assholeness of that Matt guy. See, I still like America and americans in spite of the president they have, for example

My ISP won’t allow typo because of the many problems with it. Maybe they have fixed them since my last look. I will have to give it another gander.

I will probably stick with WordPress. I know how hard it is to program a blog system. I have made one or two in the past. And since you can see that I am not using my own, how good they were.
